Rector (Senior Minister)
Kim Beales has been appointed as the new Rector of St Mark’s and will commence in February 2018.
Kim has served most recently as Associate Minister in Sunbury (Melbourne), planting a new congregation and developing local mission and discipleship initiatives. Kim has a heart for making new disciples of Jesus and for empowering people to fulfill their God given calling. He is also a cricket enthusiast (more a follower than player these days), a regular runner, and a singer-songwriter.
Assistant Minister – Sam Pursell
Sam works on developing the childrens, youth and young adults ministries at St Mark’s. He counts it a joy to see young people grow up with the blessing of knowing that Jesus knows them and loves them. He is married to Susan and they have a young son. When he’s not with them, or at church, he’ll be out cycling.
Associate Minister – Dennis Quinn
Dennis is one of the Associate Ministers, and also the Tasmanian Hon Regional Officer for Bush Church Aid. He co-ordinates the Pastoral Care for the Parish and to assist with the regular services.
As one of the mature aged people of the Parish this fits his role and he finds it enjoyable and productive. Dennis is married to Lois and she shares in the ministry in several ways; they have three adult children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include reading and lawn bowls.
Associate Minister – Fraser Herbert
Fraser is married to Lexie and they have three children and six grandchildren. He retired after working with the Tasmania Fire Service for 30 years, and then in community service in Tasmania, and also overseas mission. He enjoys being part of a team that cares for everyone, young or old, and especially loves the area of pastoral care to the community.
Youth Trainee – Suraj Nepali
Suraj is married to Jemima and works at St Marks as youth trainee. He enjoys being a part of St Marks and helping the youth and the children love Jesus Christ and grow in Him. He loves riding his motorbike.
Parenting Support Worker
We are currently working through options around our parenting/children’s ministry and hope to make a new appointment soon.
